More money has been invested in the Brooklands Park Estate under Labour than at any time since the Estate was built.
The Decent Homes scheme has improved council homes on the Estate. £200 million is being spent in the Borough to ensure that every council tenant lives in a home that meets the minimum standards by
2010. This will be achieved in Greenwich without the transfer of any homes.
The Tories only slashed funding for social housing, but under labour we have invested much more money in Council properties and under the Decent Homes initiative, your estate has now been upgraded with new windows and interior improvements that mean greater energy efficiency.
