Clive has fiercely opposed recommendations drawn up by local health workers to change our local health services. "Any changes to local health must benefit patients," said Clive.
Plans drawn up by doctors and nurses from local hospitals are proposing major changes to where services are based. They will be part of a consultation involving local people. "The fact there are no proposals to close any hospital is welcome, but these plans go too far. No one can make any changes until local people have been consulted and I will ensure that local people have the opportunity to have their say." Said Clive
"I fought to save our NHS under the Tories when they shut down the Brook Hospital. Under Labour we have employed over a thousand extra doctors, nurses and midwifes since 1997 in our four hospitals."
"I will ensure that any future changes are only considered if they can be proved to improve quality of care for all patients. I will also ensure that the public are kept informed of any proposals and that people like you will have your voices listened to."
"I will hold public meetings across my constituency to involve local people in discussions about improving our health services. I also want to hear from you, so do not hesitate to get in touch."
