Page Estate Walkabout 26th Feruary 2007

Page Estate Walkabout

These are the notes taken during Clive's walkabout on the Page Estate on Monday 26th February 2007

1. Borough-wide panel
Gully clearances – Shawbrooke Road by rail bridge
TSO will carry out enforcement once the reorganisation goes ahead. Can Police Safer Neighbourhood Team be issued with the forms for the notices so they can issue them?

2. Dog mess
This has been identified as a major problem on all of the estates on the walkabouts. We need to develop a strategy.

3. Briset Road/Park
When is the cage around the ball park going up?

Lights in the park – there are problems with the timer. When will this be corrected?

Grass not been re-seeded properly – the park does not look like much care has been taken over reinstating the grass.

Hard court not swept of glass

The whole park is covered in litter and does not look like it has been swept for some time.

Area near bench outside Scout Hut in Briset Road not swept – covered in litter.

4. PEAP
When will the building work go ahead? Cllr Ray Walker and Clive are chasing Mike Howes who is taking a report to Cabinet.
Clive will set up a meeting with PEAP members to discuss how to follow things up.

5. Will Crooks Gardens
Pathway beside motorway – the area is covered in litter. Is it on Cleansweep’s schedule for cleaning?

Old lamppost has still not been removed. This has been waiting for over one year.

Gap in motorway fence – this has still not been put back – young people can easily get on to the motorway.

Net to stop pigeons nesting missing on side of flyover above Shawbrooke Road

6. Yorkshire Grey Roundabout
TfL agreed to meet with Parks & Open Spaces to discuss the future management of Yorkshire Grey and Well Hall roundabouts. Clive feels that TfL have never maintained these roundabouts to the same standards as Greenwich Council.

7. Shawbrooke Road
Concrete building materials dumped on verge in Shawbrooke Road. They are four feet in diameter and appear to be pieces of chimney. Is it possible to identify where they were made and where they have come from and charge the person responsible for dumping them?

8. Rancliffe and Brenley Gardens bungalows
Residents have been consulted over locking one gate to which they will have a key and leaving the other open. When the results are known the Neighbourhood Office will decide on a way forward.

9. Junction of Briset Road and Westhorne Avenue
Clive is waiting for a response from TfL re: fences at junction of Briset and Westhorne Avenue.

10. The Pupil Referral Unit
Wisteria from PRU in Newhaven Gardens is overhanging pavement and needs cutting back.
