160 bus route update

Clive Efford and Len Duvall are stepping up their campaign to get Transport For London to listen to local people and reroute the 160 bus through the Horn Park estate.

Clive and Len have insisted that TfL come to Horn Park to meet them.  Len Duvall explains, "we will show them how the 160 bus can be rerouted through the estate. As Horn Park's representative on the Greater London Authority I am determined that the people of this estate are listened to."

Route B15 will provide a great service to Eltham High Street, Welling and Bexleyheath for the people of Horn Park Estate. Route 132 will provide new links to Bexleyheath, Greenwich Peninsula (Sainsburys & Cinema) and North Greenwich Station & the 02 Arena for the Kidbrooke Rochester Way area. Route 160 Sidcup Station to Catford should be re-routed to Lewisham Town Centre to serve Catford Shopping Centre, Lewisham Hospital, Lewisham High Street and Lewisham DLR Station for the people of Eltham including those living in the Middle Park Estate and Westhorne Avenue areas. Route 273 Petts Wood Station to Lewisham (Tesco)should have an increased frequency of every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes and every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and Sundays.

If route B15 Bexleyheath to Horn Park Estate is successful and proves popular. It may be possible to extend route B15 via Horn Park Estate to Catford (St Dunstans) to link the Horn Park Estate to Catford as well as to Eltham, Welling and Bexleyheath.

I agree Route 160 Sidcup Station To Catford via Chislehurst, New Eltham, Middle Park Estate and Westhorne Avenue needs to be re-routed to Lewisham Town Centre to serve Lewisham Hospital, Lewisham High Street and Lewisham Station (DLR). The frequency on route 160 also needs to be increased.

I also agree with the suggestion for Route 291 Plumstead Common (Woodlands Estate) to Queen Elizabeth Hospital via Woolwich Town Centre and Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station should be extended to Kidbrooke Station. via Baker Road, Shooters Hill (Brook Village Estate), Well Hall Road, Well Hall Circus, Rochester Way, Kidbrooke Park Road, Kidbrooke Station (Forecourt. To give residents living along Rochester Way and the local housing estates off of Rochester Way a direct daily bus service to Kidbrooke Station, Thomas Tallis School, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich Town Centre and Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station. A very much needed local bus service improvement for the area. It will also allow people to apply for jobs further a field by using the Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station and local opportunities in Woolwich and long the Thames Gateway. A bus service to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is also essential.

If TFL will not exend route 291 to Kidbrooke Station. Then route B16 Bexleyheath Garage to Kidbrooke Station should be extended to Woolwich Common (Queen Elizabeth Hospital) via Kidbrooke Park Road (Thomas Tallis School), Rochester Way, Well Hall Road, Shooters Hill Road (Book Village Estate) and Baker Road. Providing the Westmount Road, Eltham High Street and Kidbrooke Rochester Way areas with a direct daily bus service to and from Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

I agree with Richard 100%. The Rochester Way area desperately needs a bus service to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and hopefully Woolwich. There are a lot of elderly, disabled people and young mums with buggies and small children who need to get to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Not all of them are able to walk to Well Hall Road to catch the 122 and 161. For many changing buses can also be very difficult especially for the elderly and disabled. We seriously need to look at providing a bus service to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and hopefully Woolwich for this area. Route 291 or B16 could easily provide this much needed link along Rochester Way.

Yes the Kidbrooke Rochester Way area and the local housing estates including Carnbrooke Road, Birdbrooke Road Nelson Mandela Way and Briset Road off of the Rochester Way do need a direct bus service to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Woolwich Town Centre. By extending route 291 to Kidbrooke Station can via Rochester Way and Kidbrooke Park Road can so easily and cost effectively provide this bus service. While also improving bus services to the Thomas Tallis School and Kidbrooke Station at the same time.

I think the 160 bus route should run to and from Lewisham Town Centre and Lewisham Station (DLR) via current routing to Catford One Way System then via Rushey Green (Catford Shopping Centre), Lewisham Hospital, Lewisham High Street and Lewisham Station (DLR). The Eltham area needs improved bus services to Lewisham and the Middle Park Estate and Westhorne Avenue areas will gain a direct service to Lewisham Hospital and Lewisham Town Centre for the first time. We hope Clive Efford MP, Len Duvall GLA Member and local councillors will take this matter up with TFL Buses and the Mayor Of London.
