Labour councillors John Kelly, Denise Hyland and Danny Thorpe have been working hard for the people of Shooters Hill and Plumstead over the last year.
The Ship
The three worked closely together with the local community to ensure that the Ship in Plumstead Common Road was not turned into a night club. "This would have been entirely inappropriate for such a residential area." explained Danny.
Shrewsbury and Eaglesfield Parks
Danny, Denise and John have all been working with the new park "Friends" groups to ensure that the park in our community are properly maintained. "We are lucky to have such beautiful green spaces on our doorstep" said John. "The new friends group allows us to join with the local community to improve the parks even further."
New Police Teams
Every ward now has its own police Safer Neighbourhood Team. The team for Shooters Hill is made up of a Police Sergeant, three PCs and three PC-SOs. "The introduction of the teams has seen overall crime across the Borough drop by more than 5 per cent." explained Denise. Further information on the Boroughs Safer Neighbourhood Team's can be found here.
Swingate Lane
After over a year of campaigning by your three councillors, consultation has recently finished on plans for a traffic-calming scheme on Swingate Lane to be put in place.
