Community Space Challenege is a new national initiative which will massively transform areas from Devon to Newcastle.
The exciting programme offers an opportunity for young people to work together with their local agencies to improve, enhance and develop their communities.
One of the first areas to be regenerated will be the area around Briset Road. The whole programme was launched at the Scout hut in Briset Road. The main speaker was government minister Vernon Coaker. Other speakers included Sir Clive Booth, Chair of the Big Lottery Fund. Clive Efford was also on hand to hand out awards to some of the local youngsters involved and to show visitors some of the work that had already begun. He couldn't resist getting stuck in to help with some of the horticultural work on show!
