The Prime Minister and Cabinet members phoned voters in Eltham, Plumstead, Shooters Hill and Kidbrooke earlier this week.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown joined Cabinet colleagues this evening telephoning; taking Labour’s message directly to voters in Eltham.
Following a hectic day which included the final Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons and two campaign visits, Gordon Brown spent the evening telephoning voters to talk about how Labour will secure Britain’s economic recovery.
Joined by his wife Sarah, and members of the Cabinet, Gordon Brown telephoned voters in seats across the UK, including Eltham from Labour headquarters in Central London.

Labour’s candidate for Eltham, Clive Efford said:
“It was fantastic to see Gordon, Sarah and the Cabinet speaking directly with voters right here in Eltham about their experiences of local schools, sure start children’s centres, hospitals and police – all services that would face deep, quick cuts under the Tories.
“Local people know that Tory sums simply don’t add up.
“Every family in Eltham has to balance the books. David Cameron can’t get through this election with a nod and a wink. It’s time he came clean with the people of Eltham and explained which of our vital services would be cut to fill the Tories’ spending black hole.
“Front-line services in Eltham are at stake in this election. They will only be secure with Labour’s future fair for all.”
