Secret Tory meetings reveal plans to demolish thousands of homes
The secret meeting was undertaken by Conservative leader David Cameron's flagship Tory Council Hammersmith and Fulham. The meeting saw the leaders of the council referring to the estates as "ghettoes" while another person complained as it was "hard to get rid of people".
The plans to demolish thousands of homes, quoted as the "bulldozer argument", replacing them with commercial buildings are part of their plans to create a mixed community. These discussions looked to reduce social housing by up to a third forcing people from their homes, and tenants could face little prospect of re-housing as the number of social housing is cut and the few houses available are already taken.
These vibrant communities now face destruction, after millions of pounds were spent on them through Government schemes like Decent Homes to look after these estates. The communities are fighting these plans to destroy their homes, raise their rents to unaffordable rates and take away their rights as the Tory's look to remove any responsibility to re-house the homeless.
These terrible events unfolding in West London must be acknowledged as future Tory plans for housing across the country as they look to socially reconstruct the country and line one another's deep and greedy pockets.
