After years of campaigning, local candidate Clive Efford has welcomed the new Docklands Light Railway station at Woolwich.
The DLR arrived in Woolwich on time and on budget as promised by the Labour government and the former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone as seen below as they joined Clive in welcoming the start of work back in 2006.

Clive Efford welcomed the new development, “More and more people work in the Docklands and this will increase as the Thames Gateway development progresses.”
When Crossrail arrives in Woolwich we will be able to get trains to the City and West London. Crossrail will make it possible to travel from Woolwich directly to Heathrow in under an hour.
Clive says, “This is great news. If we are to tackle climate change we need to expand public transport links like the DLR and Crossrail.”
